Description: Board/Plaque/ Tablet

  • Metal Brass

  • Second World War (1939-1945)
About the memorial: Geographical Marker: A plain wall-mounted brass plaque with an incised inscription in upright capital block and roman lettering. It is on the west wall of the nave. Rose Taylor died while serving with the ATS and is buried in a war grave in the Churchyard. P Taylor is her brother, Percy- he has no known grave but has a special commemoration on Roses' grave- WMO/293811. Also on the south external wall of the Church, just west of the south door is a standard Airfields of Britain Conservation Tablet commemorating the WW1 Lullington Airfield- such tablets are not war memorials under the definitions of this web site, but it's presence is worth noting- hopefully to stop a record being mistakenly created. The airfield was about 1500 metres northwest of the village, in a field just south of what is now Garland's Wood.
