About the memorial: A bound hardbacked book of remembrance on a display stand, originally accompanied by a sanctuary lamp. The black cover of the book has a tooled and gilded border with crosses in each corner and a title in upright capital roman lettering. The opening page has a thin blue line border and an inscription in red, blue and black calligraphy. The subsequent pages have a thin red line border and the text in calligraphy; the names in black and the ranks and units in blue. The book is displayed on a small wooden stand. The book was originally accompanied by a silver sanctuary lamp, subsequently stolen, and a replacement silver plated replica which was damaged in an accident and removed to storage. The original silver sanctuary lamp was stolen around 1974, later a replacement silver plated sanctuary lamp was provided. In March 2016 the replacement sanctuary lamp fell, was damaged and placed into storage.
