About the memorial: An inclined tablet on a stone pedestal. The tall, narrow limestone tablet is in the shape of an unfurled scroll and bears an inlaid inscription with names in a single columnn, mainly in upright capital block lettering. The oblong pedestal is of roughly-dressed red sandstone. The garden is at the junction with Derby Road (A6) and the memorial is just inside the gate, to the left. It was originally outside the now demolished Scout Hut on Chevin Road, and later in the external paved area adjacent to Milford Baptist Church, also on Chevin Road before being moved to it's current location.
