About the memorial: An addition to the lettering on a family gravestone. The memorial comprises a tall sandstone headstone tapering at the head to a cross with Christograph at the centre and bearing an inscription incised in upright capital block lettering.  The headstone is accompanied by oblong stone kerbs with the maker's name incised at the foot. The Church of the Annunciation is on the east side of the road and was previously called St Mary's Roman Catholic Chapel. The memorial is at the western edge of the graveyard, close to the road and north of the path.
