About the memorial: A hardback book of remembrance displayed in an aumbry. At the head of the aumbry is a repeated motif of acanthus leaves and in the spandrels of the arch are images of St George and the dragon in relief, below which the dates are carved on a ribbon.  A hinged metal grille covers the niche, behind which the book is displayed. A projecting shelf below may also be used for displaying the book or for tributes. The oblong book has a brown leather cover with a thin, gold-tooled border with symbols at each corner, a title, text and a chi-rho symbol at the centre. The opening page bears the title and a text in red, gold and black decorative calligraphy. The second page bears a reference, in black calligraphy, to accompanying flags, now lost. Each subsequent page bears one or more names with brief biographical details, all in black calligraphy, but the names of the fallen are in red calligraphy and are preceded by a small gold cross. There are 143 WW1 names of whom 31 fell, and 2 WW2 names- both of whom fell
