About the memorial: A sandstone wheel cross on a rectangular battered pedestal and three-stepped base with granite tablets attached to the pedestal and base. The cross has sprays of laurel leaves on the three limbs and crossed rifles on the shaft, all in relief. The original inscription is presumed to have become eroded and illegible and has been replaced by polished grey granite tablets. On the 6 o’clock face of the pedestal is a trapezoidal tablet with hollow chamfers at the edges and the WW1 inscription incised in upright, mainly capital, roman lettering coloured white with the names in two columns. On the 6 o'clock face of the upper step is a long narrow tablet with hollow chamfers at the edges and the WW2 inscription incised in upright roman lettering coloured white with the names arranged in three columns. Part of the original inscription survives on the 3 o'clock face of the pedestal and the maker's name is on the second step, both incised in upright capital block lettering. The memorial is in the northwest corner of the schoolyard, next to the entrance gates and facing the road but partly obscured by the school's boundary wall.
