About the memorial: A roughly oblong parcel of land, about 170m in an east-west direction by about 68m in a north-south direction and comprising about 0.95ha. Previously known as Horse Croft or Horse Close, the land was formerly identified as OS Parcel 436 on the 1914 edition of the 1:2500 Ordnance Survey Plan. The land is mainly laid out to grass play areas but with a children's play area near the northeast corner, and a number of trees along the northern boundary and towards the western end, five of which were planted in memory of the fallen of two world wars. An oblong information panel bearing historical details of the site is mounted on a metal post beside the northeast entrance.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
