About the memorial: The High Altar in the Chancel, dedicated 25 July (St James' Day), 1922. Fulham Chronicle, 28 July 1922: "The complete memorial consists of a tablet in the war chapel on which are inscribed the names of those that fell in the war. [see WMO/295516]. This tablet was completed about eighteen months ago, and since that time the chancel has been under preparation for the completion of the scheme. A large and valuable oil painting, by the late Mr Benjamin West, forms the reredos, and the walls of the chancel have been beautifully painted by one of the church officers, who has devoted many weeks to this work. These preparations formed the setting for the Altar, which completes the scheme as far as it is possible to go at present, although it is hoped in time it may be possible to fill in the large east window and complete the rood screen."
