Can you help?

We are seeking a condition survey and photographs of this war memorial to be added to this record. We would like to make an assessment of the current condition of this war memorial and, if necessary, take any appropriate action. Can you help?

Status: On original site
Type: Non freestanding
Location: Internal
Setting: Inside a building - public/private
Description: Roll of Honour or Book of Remembrance
Materials:
  • Glass Glass
  • Paper Paper
  • Timber Timber (any)
Lettering: Other
Conflicts:
  • First World War (1914-1918)
About the memorial: Wall-mounted and framed scroll with handwritten names listed under a printed religious image with decorative quotes wrapping around the picture. Another smaller printed plaque nailed onto a pew spells out the names as the original roll of honour is becoming illegible. In 2005 it was propped against a wall in the vestry but by 2016 had been hung on a wall. The names are the same as on the marble tablet WMO 295854 and it seems a sensible surmise that this was a working document during the war which was superseded by the tablet but is on display as an historical artefact of significance.
