About the memorial: First World War plaque with 5 names. A large rectangular plaque with a cross engraved above all of the text. Then for the Second World War, a rectangular stone tablet with text and 3 names. Bryanston School was only established in 1928, and this memorial relates to people from the village of Bryanston. The school took over a large country house, and it is typical of Dorset that a village church would be within the grounds of the local "big house". The church is now the school chapel. John Gordon Taylor (WW2) is also commemorated at Thames Ditton- WMO/300793. Note that for WW2 this list is incomplete- see WMO/300796
