About the memorial: Small two light stained glass window with tracery above. St George in left light, St Edward in right. Regimental badge above. Inscription across the bottom of the lights. On the north wall, adjacent to the iconostasis. There is another window to Captain De la Fontaine in the Athelhampton Chantry of St Mary's Church, Puddletown. (WMO/97411) The Puddletown window gives his full name as Alfred Edwardt Cecil Cart De la Fontaine. It may be that the large Puddletown window was a formal memorial while the small one in this former estate church, just across the road from Athelhampton House, is a more intimate family memorial using the name he was known by.
