About the memorial: White marble tablet set on black marble surround, mounted on the church wall. Resting above the tablet is the Rifle Brigade Badge with crossed sword and rifle, also in white marble. Died of dysentery after the recapture3 of Lucknow, having contrcted the disease in the field.
