About the memorial: Composite memorial comprising an apex-headed, moulded pediment supported by fluted pilasters, two moulded shelves and two corbel stones, mutually enclosing two vertically aligned white marble tablets. The whole is attached to a wall mounted, portrait orientated, apex-headed black marble backboard. The uppermost tablet is dedicated to the Great War and the lower extension tablet for WW2. Incised inscriptions and names on both tablets are infilled with black paint. The fluting on the pilasters and letters " IHS " on the upper tablet are enhanced in gilt. The pedimented tympanum area bears artifacts in relief. A centralised wreath is flanked by the Union flag and St. George flag, with a versed scroll banner below. The wreath encloses the entwined letters " IHS " in gilt.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
