About the memorial: Four similar large marble tablets erected in the War Memorial Chapel (WMO/300787), set within marble frames which have lancet arches and inscriptions carved around the frames and arch. An Addendum to these memorials is incorporated within the largest of three other tablets in the Chapel commemorating Brothers of the St Vincent de Paul Society who died (WMO/258708). The four tablets are arranged in two pairs - one pair sits each side of the entrance to the Chapel, with the other pair being across from one another near the altar. Each pair of tablets carries a different set of names each arranged in date order of death from 1914 to 1919/1920, but there is nothing to indicate why this was done. The right-hand tablet of the outer pair carries an unusual inscription relating to Private J Farrell. There are a total of 443 names.
