About the memorial: A plaque in a wall mounted wooden frame accompanied by a shelf for the placement of tributes. The plain oblong brass plaque has an incised inscription in upright capital Roman lettering infilled in yellow. The varnished oak frame has a segmental pediment over a moulded cornice with egg and dart decoration on both and a spray of foliage in relief at the centre. The top rail of the frame has an incised inscription in upright capital Roman lettering and the foot has an inverted moulded cornice. The simple shelf is triangular in plan with a stepped backboard. Formerly at Wyvern House, Railway Terrace. The present location is next to Derby Midland Station.
