About the memorial: The pair of candlesticks were made from silverware donated by the relatives of members of the regiment, mostly from cups and awards won by those who fell. The silver was melted down to form the candlesticks which were made by the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company of 112 Regent Street.. They stand 4 feet six inches high and weigh 800 ounces. The regimental badge is incorporated into the plinths. The dedication ceremony was held on Saturday January 27th 1923. In the IWM Register, this memorial is included as part of the entry for the Kitchener Chapel but has been given its own record here.
