About the memorial: Wooden carved reredos in form of triptych of epiphany. Coloured gold with annunciation painted & engraved on wood. On the left of the reredos is the shield of St. George and on the right a stone tablet with the names of the men who died on active service. Designed by John Crawford to complement Travers’ great east window, it comprises a large triptych of the Epiphany and Annunciation above the high altar, flanked by a plaque of St. George slaying the dragon and a stone memorial tablet. The tablet commemorates 32 parishioners killed on active service, Dedicated by T. Barton Milton on 26th June 1949.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
