About the memorial: MAGNIFICENT THREE LIGHT STAINED GLASS WINDOW WITH TRACERIES. SEE ORNAMENTATION BELOW FOR DETAILS. SILL IS A MEDIAEVAL GRAVE SLAB WITH CARVED SWORD AND HELMET CENTRAL LIGHT DEPICTS A MORTALLY WOUNDED WEST YORKSHIRE INFANTRYMAN, WITH RIFLE AND GAS MASK, LYING WOUNDED AT THE FOOT OF CHRIST CRUCIFIED ON A RED CROSS, SYMBOL OF THE CRUSADER. IN THE BACKGROUND IS THE SETTING SUN, A RUINED CHURCH AND SHELL TORN TREES. BELOW THIS SCENE IS THE REGIMENTAL CAP BADGE FLANKED BY A BATTLEFIELD CROSS AND A FIELD GRAVE OF RIFLE AND HELMET. BEHIND THE GRAVES ARE POPPIES, AND IN FRONT ARE THE WHITE ROSES OF YORKSHIRE. LH LIGHT IS CAPPED BY THE SYMBOL OF THE 49TH DIVISION, BELOW WHICH ARE ILLUSTRATED THE BATTALION LANDING IN FRANCE AN THE ACTIONS AT YPRES, THIEPVAL, NIEUPOR AND PASSCHENDAELE. AT THE BOTTOM ARE THE ARMS OF BRADFORD. RH LIGHT CAPPED BY INSIGNIA OF 67TH DIVISION BELOW WHICH ARE ILLUSTRATED BULLECOURT, CAMBRAI, KEMMEL HILL, VALENCIENNES AND THE CROSSING OF THE RHINE AT COLOGNE. AT THE BOTTOM ARE THE ECCLESIASTICAL ARMS OF BRADFORD SEE. IN THE BORDER ARE SMALL MEDALLIONS REPRESENTING THE WORK OF BATTALION SPECIALIST SIX TRACERY LIGHTS SHOW THE PATRON SAINTS OF THE ALLIES, North aisle to the west of the north porch (the kitchen area)

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
