About the memorial: A marble tablet, originally in a nowy-headed alabaster frame with design of a cross in a wreath at the top. Dedicated May 1922, at which time it contained 17 names (T. J. Cooper, who died 1922, was the addition). Originally at Dunham Wesleyan Chapel, Main Street, opposite The Swan public house. The chapel closed in 1973 and was later demolished. The memorial was rescued by Geoff Ashton, and is now in a new timber frame at the village hall.
