About the memorial: Battlefield cross dedicated to 2Lt Geoffrey Wilkins and his cousin 2Lt A L Hill. Mounted on wall. Together with a framed description of the cross and history. The Returned website report suggests that this is Lt Wilkins' cross and that Lt Hill's GRU tags were added later.

2nd Lieut (Name) 2nd Royal Northumberland Fusiliers Died of wounds received at Loos 4th October 1915 2nd Lieut (Name) 1 Middlesex Killed 25th Sept 1915 (Loos) (On associated frame) /This cross was erected in the War Cemetery at/Choques, France, over the grave of 2nd Lieutenant/Geoffrey Wilkins, Northumberland Fusilers,/who died on October 5th 1915, of wounds received at Loos./When the cross was replaced by a permanent/grave stone, it was removed to this Church, and placed/here in his memory and in that of his brother-in-law/2nd Lieutenant Arthur Lionel Hill, 1st Middlesex Regt.,/who was killed at Loos on September 25th 1915./R.I.P/
