About the memorial: Four pairs of brick and tile hung semi-detached cottages built in 1904, in memory of officers and men of the King's Royal Rifle Corps (1 pair of semi-detached cottages), the Rifle Brigade (2 pairs of semi-detached cottages) and H R H Prince Christian Victor of Schleswig-Holstein (1 pair of semi-detached cottages) who were killed or died of wounds or disease in the 2nd Anglo Boer War. Arranged in a quadrangle, with other dwellings/flats added later. Regimental crests on the exterior walls and crest of HRH Prince Christian on one of the cottages.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
