About the memorial: The Bus Shelter was built in memory of Private Jack Tugwell who was killed in action in thew second world war, he was a gunner 11001231 Gunner, 16 Defence Regiment, Royal Artillery, Died 12/09/1944 Age 23 Taken pov after the fall of singapore. He was based in hankerton. It is used as a bus shelter for many years, and still in used today as a meeting point in the village.
