Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
Before applying for a grant you should read the advice available on War Memorials Trust`s website. The What we can and cannot fund helpsheet explains what types of work the charity can fund.
If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.
The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

LIEUTENANT/ JOHN LEWIS HAMPTON LEWIS/ Of His Majesty's Royal Regiment of Artillery, late of the/ Royal Anglesey Royal Engineers (Militia)/ We, the Mayor, Aldermen, and Burgesses, of the Borough of/ Beaumaris, in the County of Anglesey, as well on behalf of the/ inhabitants of the Town and Borough of Beaumaris, as of all/ your friends and neighbours in these parts, desire to offer you the heartiest/ and warmest welcome on your return from the seat of War in South Africa/ Whilst we regret to find that the labour and hardships of the/ Campaign in which you have been engaged have temporarily impaired/ your health and vigour, we have every confidence that a short relief from/ Active service with the enjoyment of your native air will soon restore you/ to perfect health./ On your departure a year ago for South Africa, we felt assured that/ you would perform your duty to your Sovereign and Country in a manner/ befitting a British Officer, gentleman, and the scion of an old Anglesey/ House. The son of a father who endured the privations of the Crimean War,/ took part in the ever memorable charge of the Heavy Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava,/ and was presented with a sword of honour on his return home./ We accord you sincere congratulations upon having received the at the hand/ of the Commander in Chief a Commission in His Majesty's Royal Regiment/ of Artillery, in recognition of your services, and we are proud to know that the/ men who left Beaumaris under your command, have done their duty so as/ to merit the approval and praise of those in Authority./ It is our earnest hope that there may be before you a long life of use-/ fulness to your country, that you may deserve the esteem and respect of/ all with whom you may be associated, that your career as a soldier may be/ distinguished and prosperous, and above all that the blessing of Almighty/ God may be with you always./ Given under the Common Seal of the said Mayor, Aldermen, and/ Burgesses this 15th day of April 1901/ William Thomas Williams/ Mayor of Beaumaris/ J Rice Roberts/ Town Clerk
