About the memorial: Timber-built memorial hall, now demolished. The original IWM War Memorials Archive record for this memorial stated that the hall was built by the Army during the First World War and that the village bought the hall after the conflict as a memorial for the fallen of the First World War. However, this WMR entry has been removed and the present IWM Register entry is as follows - "Single storey timber built and metal clad building with an associated fenced lawn. Inside the hall is a rectangular dedicatory wooden board with cornice supported by carved columns either side, and shelf at base. Lettering is incised and picked out in gold and is dedicated to the men of Mareham in World war 1." The plaque has beeen relocated to the site of the new hall- see links.
