About the memorial: Situated in Crosland Hill Road in the village of Crosland Hill which is some 2 miles from Huddersfield Town Centre. Description – There are two Memorials inside the main room of the public house in the form of a Roll of Honour for those who served and those who lost their lives in two World Wars. The Memorial for World War 1 details the following – Roll of Honour is at the top and underneath is the Union Jack surrounded by a laurel wreath. Through the bottom of this is a banner, on which is written. For King and Country. Underneath are the words, European War 1914 – 1919. The Memorial for World War 11 details the following – Roll of Honour is at the top and under that is a laurel wreath, through the bottom of which is written, For King and Country. Underneath that are the words, World War 1939 – 1945.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
