About the memorial: In 1923 an extension was added to the existing church building. The extension had an external stone plaque explaining that it was erected in memory of those who gave their lives in the First World War. There was also a brass plaque erected inside the church with the names of those who gave their lives. In 2004 the whole church was demolished and a new church built in its place. The plan at this time was to erect a new war memorial with the names from the original memorial in the new church. However, instead the external stone plaque from the church extension was retained and is now in the garden of the new church building. In addition, a Second World War memorial plaque has been erected inside the new church building (WMO170264).
