In 2018, WMT gave a grant towards this war memorial. As it has been a number of years since the grant was given, we would like an up-to-date condition survey and photographs to be added to this war memorial record. Can you help?

About the memorial: The Memorial was erected in 1919 by Mr Hugh Coles in Memory of his two sons. He and his wife kindly allowed the names of sixteen parishioners who fell in the Great war to be added, After the second World war the name of their grandson was added together thee names of his aircrew who died with him in 1942. Again the names of two parishioners who fell in the Second World war. The memorial developed a lean at some time and in 2018 it was repaired with the help of grants from the War Memorial Trust and the Parish Council. A Re-dedication service will be held at 2pm on Sunday November 4th 2018

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
