About the memorial: On National Trust Property: The memorial is on land owned by the National Trust; it is marked with a memorial obelisk. This is one of nine memorials, four of which are in Surrey, to Norman and Laurance Robertson, who were killed in the First World War. Their eldest brother, Mr W A Robertson, gave money to the National Trust to purchase property 'within reasonably easy reach of London' as a memorial to his brothers.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

WHO DIED 20TH JUNE 1917 AT HANOVER GERMANY AND OF LAURANCE GRANT ROBERTSON 2ND LIEUT 2ND BATTALION KING'S OWN SCOTTISH BORDERERS WHO WAS KILLED IN ACTION IN FRANCE DURING THE BATTLE OF THE SOMME IN OR NEAR DELVILLE WOOD 30TH JULY 1916.
