About the memorial: Squat Cornish granite obelisk, set on a slightly tapering square pedestal with boldly moulded capping. This rests on stepped base, the upper tier of which has a moulded top. The west face of the pedestal has lead lettering which reads: 'To the undying memory of our victorious dead who gave their lives in the Great War 1914-1918'. Under this are eight names of the fallen. On the north and south faces are a further 43 names. On the east face is the inscription 'Also to commemorate the fallen in the Second World War 1939-1945' with a list of 14 names below. A further 7 names are inscribed on the upper tier of the base with 11 on the tier below. c Historic England listing entry

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
