About the memorial: A small plaque, attached to the end of a choir pew, with dedication relating to the new heating equipment installed by the Royal Engineers in memory of a choir member who died while serving with bomb disposal unit in 1940.. Probably a fair assumption that the heating has been upgraded but the plaque is still there.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

THE NEW HEATING APPARATUS WAS PROVIDED IN 1941 BY THE WORSHIPPERS OF THIS CHURCH. THE WORK OF INSTALLATION WAS CARRIED OUT VOLUNTARILY BY THE ROYAL ENGINEERS IN MEMORY OF LT L.G.W. CARTER RE. A FORMER MEMBER OF THE CHOIR WHO GAVE HIS LIFE IN OCTOBER 1940 IN A BOMB DISPOSAL SECTION.
