About the memorial:
The war memorial in the village of Winsley in the very far west of Wiltshire is a Portland stone cross on a tall pillar on a plinth, standing on a three-stepped base. The cross has short arms, and a laurel wreath is carved in relief in the middle of the cross. The names of the fallen of World War I are inscribed on the octagonal plinth and the names of the World War II fallen on the top step. The memorial stands on a junction at the centre of the village, adjacent to Manor Farm, on triangle of grass with a stone kerb.
