About the memorial

The Lochalsh War Memorial was unveiled on Thursday 29th December 1921 by Miss Livingston of Lochalsh , the Address was given by Mr A Linton Logan of Auchteryre. The Service held , was conducted by the Reverend J MacLean, the Parish Minister , who was assisted by the Reverand MacRae of Ardelve Free Church . It was originally erected onto Sgeir an Eioin , the rock face which is opposite the East Lodge at the junction of the A 87 and the back road to Plockton .

Roll of Honour biographical information of Skye and Lochalsh Memorials has been written by Graham Ross of Skye in seven volumes . Copies are held at Portree land Inverness libraries.
