About the memorial: Four-stepped square base surmounted by a two-stage square sectioned plinth, tall & slender octagonal sectioned tapering column, octagonal shaped capital & wheel cross with fleur-de-lys shapes at end of arms. Top third of upper plinth geometrically transposes from a square section to an octagonal face section. Top faces of lower plinth are chamfered back to align with smaller upper stage plinth. Incised inscriptions with black lettering on 6 & 9 o'clock faces of plinths. The whole memorial stands within a paved & grassed area, enclosed by a hedge to the rear & metal pailing fence with gate to the roadside frontage.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
