Comments:
The shaft, upper Lantern, and that part of the plinth immediately below the shaft seem to me to be in good condition and clean. The heraldic symbols on that upper part of the plinth are reasonably clearly cut and need no attention. However the three steps down to ground level though not in a deteriorating state are so unclean and covered with moss and grime as to make a number of names unreadable and many others difficult to read. Apparently there are 26 World war II names added to the memorial but I could not specifically find them, or any reference to World War II. I am disappointed that so soon after a War Memorials Trust grant (2018) that this memorial looks so shabby. Photos sent to WMT may soon be posted.
