Comments:
Parish Council visit, in response to many concerns expressed by residents about deterioration, possibly beyond restoration. Will need action this year, to prevent irreparable damage as the stone continues to erode, and the script on the obelisk, is lost and is no longer legible. 1. Main square obelisk has cracks. 2. Lead script on obelisk, is eroding off, and needs repair. Some names are now illegible. 3. 3-off stones from octagonal base need re-fitting. 4. Main base (ex water fountain) needs repair, and stone wall enclosure wall, needs some pointing and major cleaning.
