Comments:
Overall, the condition of the memorial is good. The memorial itself and the surrounding area appear to be well tended. The area is clear of litter and tidy. The stonework of the memorial seems secure with no evidence of significant movement or cracking but there are small chips, slight cracking of the mortar in the joints, and minor staining from the bronze plaques into the stonework. The inscription in the stonework at the head of the memorial is undamaged, clear and legible. The bronze statue and name plaques are in good condition with clear and legible lettering. The small iron fence at the base of the memorial is badly rusted and is flaking. The iron fencing in the semi-circular surround is also rusting and flaking but to a lesser extent. There is no damage caused by vandalism or graffiti. There are no access restrictions.
