Comments:
As the parish Councillor of East Brent Parish council, I have responsibility for the memorial. In 2020 we noted that the memorial was starting to lean to the South and West, as a result we contacted the WMT, and subsequently had a structural survey undertaken in 2021, which confirmed the lean. The PC are now monitoring the lean monthly and keeping records. Should the lean progress beyond the limits we have set with our Structural engineer, then remedial action will be taken to install a ring beam around the perimeter, and dowel this to the memorial to maintain the position and prevent further leaning. The WMT kindly provided a grant to the PC to assist with the cost of the Structural survey.
