On 1 November 2018 the moss surrounding the construction joints was carefully removed by hand cleaning. The construction joints were cleaned of old mortar and repointed with lime mortar. A suspect crack in the cross shaft was found to be of no concern. A new plaque (photo submitted) was fitted to replace the original plaque (long missing) and installed in time for the Remembrance Day service on 11 November 2018. Wye with Hinxhill Parish Council paid for the plaque and the repair work, with a grant from the War Memorial Trust Grants Scheme supported by the First World War Memorials Programme towards the repair.
