Comments:
The cross has steps on either side going down to the crypt (not present in the earliest photo). These steps have clear plastic walls so that the hexagonal plinth and inscriptions can be seen, but the handrails block the view of the plinth at the sides. The three sides of the plinth that face towards the church are clear and legible, however the three sides that face away from the church are very badly weathered, especially the front dedication. Some names are difficult to read, and two of the E's could not be read. There is some damage on the S-Y panel. The clear plastic wall at the front has a notice and leaflet rack on it, which further obscure the plinth. Above the plinth, the hexagonal base of the shaft has "their name" just visible on one section. The adjacent sections, which logically should say "liveth for evermore", cannot be read at all. There is general discolouration, with moss, lichen, etc.
