Comments:
I visited the memorial in anticipation of submitting a funding request. The memorial has deteriorated since its last condition report. The once-vibrant red brick has dulled, and the brass components have greened. The railings' paint is peeling away. Brickwork is chipped in places, or had suffered water and ice damage. The Berlin Airlift plaque is dull. Flagstones are uneven. At the pentagon uppermost corner, the stone is flaking away, cracked and crumbling.
