Comments:
The War Memorial was recently dismantled (2017) and the base stabilised and re-mortared. The whole of the refurbishment programme cost the Parish £7k. The stone steps are rough and do attract lichen growth (due to the clean air in West Herefordshire). The statue is memorial is washed down every year with warm, soapy water in order to preserve the polished granite. The red granite of the obelisk is highlighted by the grayish mottled stone of the steps and base. I note previous comments on the condition of the memorial but would suggest that this memorial is now in a good condition albeit the lettering needs improvement. This is under consideration.
