Comments:
Carried out by year 4 at Summerbank Primary Academy. The inscriptions on the metal plaques were good but those incised in the stone are starting to wear away. The 4 in 1945 was particularly difficult to read. The mortar between the stones on the stepped based is crumbling. There was a small crack on the plinth and several small holes in the stonework. There was a bit of moss on the obelisk and quite a bit of moss growth in the joins between the plinth and steps. Near the memorial is a shelter which had some graffiti and bird droppings in it. There was some litter in the flower beds surrounding the memorial. There was a corner of the pathway around the memorial with a large amount of moss growth. Overall the memorial is looked after and in a Fair condition.
