Free standing Memorial….. WWI names face – some names beginning to fade – need re-cutting Base joints and others lacking mortar Sandstone in various places delaminating/layering leading to surface failures WWII names plaque – raised lettering OK but cleaning required WWI Roll of Honour tablet/plaque attached to east end of Church…… Similar sandstone delamination to main memorial – at least four areas where lettering has gone and cannot be interpreted. Discussion with person living next to church suggests this tablet was conserved/restored 10 or more years ago – does not appear to have been very successful As the Memorials are situated in the Churchyard they are presumably the responsibility of the Church. Anslow Church is in a benefice with Rolleston-on-Dove and Tutbury - all three are currently (29/8/2019) Interregnum - i.e. without a vicar. I have sent an update to the Church Wardens and am currently awaiting a response.
