Comments:
The oak bearers holding the Lych Gate up have been patched several times and now need replacing. Because the Lych Gate, which is owned by the residents of the village, is on church land, the Archdeacon has had to give permission for any repair and this has taken over a year to acquire. In addition there is movement in the tenon joints causing it to lean and it needs a tie bar putting in place. Unfortunately to replace the bearers, the lych gate will have to be dismantled and this is a very expensive job but one which ensure its future.
