Comments:
This alabaster monument with bronze lettering and polychrome decoration to the borders is dedicated to Lt Rupert Hardy Parker (d1917). The monument, together with a Georgian marble tablet to Samuel Forster (immediately below) (d1776), were surveyed by conservator Alexandra Carrington ACR in January 2002. She noted that the Parker monument is very difficult to read and enjoy owing to its very dull dirty appearance. There is evidence of water damage, namely streaking on the RH side. The conservator's report is available but could not be attached. The photograph herewith has been digitally enhanced to try to make it more readable.
