Comments:
This was at the original YMCA building in the Market Place, next to the Clock Tower, and does not seem to have moved to the "new" YMCA building former Parochial Rooms in Dark Lane. It had long been believed lost. It was then found in a garage in 2013, which shortly thereafter was subject to an arson attack. The fire severely damaged the plaque, leaving it in a fragile condition. It is now at Northumberland Archives for preservation, acquisition number NRO 10649/1. From the Catalogue it seems to have been restored in 2015 to 2016 and to now be legible. At that time research was undertaken into the names commemorated, which is referenced on this report. There are no images on the Archival record, so a condition update would be welcomed.
