The War Memorial in Holy Trinity Hastings is currently obscured behind a stage which has been erected across the west end of the nave resulting in the Memorial appearing to be somewhat ignored and neglected. It is hoped to move the stage when funds permit to enable the Memorial to be fully appreciated. In May 2023 a report on the condition and conservation proposals for the Memorial was prepared. This report highlighted several issues, relating to its condition and location which will need to be addressed if it is to be conserved for the future including cleaning, stabilisation, timber repairs, retouching and varnishing. Further professional advice is being sought with a view to commissioning a restoration project.
