The memorial is borderline Poor/Fair condition. As the lettering still appears to be largely sharp on balance I have assessed the memorial as Fair and suggest monitoring its condition. The discolouration seems to be caused by lichens, which is consistent with its enviornment, and potentially staining from the bracket above. WMT does not have details of the missing element below the memorial and further information would be appreciated, as it is unclear what is missing. For example, if it is another dedicatory plaque then I would firmly assess the memorial as Poor as a part is missing.
