Comments:
Unhappily, recent cleansing has made the inscriptions on the northern face almost impossible to fully read. When the memorial was built all the names of the dead were painted black on top of the incisions. Now there is no paintwork and the incisions are both thin and lack depth. The original railings around the memorial have not been replaced. More happily there is an excellent ringbinder file kept in the church which gives brief biographies of all the dead.
