Having reviewed the information available WMT is unclear as to whether this cross is a war memorial and would welcome any research on this. The condition has been upgraded to Fair as it may be the case that no inscription was ever present, however the use of paint to coat the surface is not a conservation recommended approach as it can trap moisture and result in the deterioration of the stone work.
